I suppose we should all be happy it's not another DS9. God that show was awful.

DS9 is a tricky one, that's the point where ST realised they needed to do something different but didn't know what. It was good when it got into its stride but there was a lot I hated about it, mainly Jake and anything to do with the prophets. I actually think ENT was the better series now :ninja:

I'd be lying if I said I didn't want Trek to go back to its roots but the question is, did Star Trek need to change direction ?. After Voyager it did get burned out but today ?, I really dunno based on the success of Orville, but then everything in Orville is rehashed from Trek, which leads us back around to burn out, so I really dunno

You watch it all, with the dominion war ?. I'm guessing you liked the rest of them ?, If so you're one of those purest of pure trekkies :)

Yeah gonna have to side with loschunk and shaft here. DS9 was great. At least, as soon as the Dominion was introduced. Before that it was too much of a soap opera in space.

Back end of Disco spotted in ST:3

:smirk:

I actually know the story behind it, it's the ship design Disco was based on (phase 3) and the model was repurposed for ST:3. Still, makes for good continuity :)

Only 3 more eps left...

Episode 1 of season 2 is available on Netflix. I saw it. It's incredibly lame. The sneezing scene is the lamest thing I've seen in Star Trek, period. It would better fit a Han Solo moment in Star Wars. Would fit the tone much better. In fact, there's multiple scenes that look like Star Wars rather than Trek.
Not dissing on SW here, but ST should stay firmly in the realm of plausible realism and not veer off into space adventures like SW.

I think I have just found it out there somewhere.... Yep, got it to check out.. Hopefully it gets better.

Note to self: Better watch Season 1 again :smirk:

I mean, I know it's not hard sci-fi, but could they at least show the speed of light some respect?
