Time again to open your wallets. Doom is only $15, The Witcher 3 is $25, Civ 6 is $35, Hyper Light Drifter is $10. I have all those already, but Redout, a WipeOut/F-Zero inspired indie racer is down to $14, so it looks like my wishlist is getting shorter.

I already have Formula Fusion. They have the same people doing design and music, too, it's pretty slick.

GRIP is also on sale, but I'm starting to get overloaded on arcade racers. :(

I've always wanted to try a Civ game. But my time is limited these days. Is it too time intensive for a casual player?

Every time I play that game, I end up playing way longer than I planned. Just one more turn, that's all...

I mean, you can set your own win conditions for custom games to make them shorter, but nothing really happens quickly in a Civ game.

Have an Xbox 360 or PS3? Grab a cheap copy of Civ Revolution. It's a very streamlined version of the game which lasts like 2 to 3 hours in a single run.

If you don't already have it, I highly, highly recommend Hitman Season One for £15.99 / $23.73. That's a great price for an awful lot of game, that also happens to be one of my favourite games of the past 5 years.
It's the best Hitman's ever been. Yes, even better than Blood Money.

I might have to check it out. For that price, no big loss if I don't have time...

Good to know. I'll take a look at it, if it doesn't look too "dumbed down", it might give it a try...

I love Civ games, but they do tend to drag once the entire world map has been revealed and there's nothing to explore any more. Civ V & VI have attempted to alleviate that with things like Archaeology, but they've never completely eliminated the late game drag.

Endless Legend is a great alternative mind you. I haven't played it in a while, but I remember the late game managing to retain a sense of exploration.

Picked up Rise of the Tomb Raider and Mafia III as well as some others. Might give Dark Souls III a go. Maybe a few Artfag games like Ori and the blind forest, Firewatch and Kentucky Route Zero to pick up later on.

oh hmm, i'll report back on how well my i5 2500k does at home. Might be worth swapping the 9800Ti into my work pooter and playing after work. That's an i7.

I've boycotted Dishonoured 2 due to reports of bad PC portage.

Loved TR2013, but keep bouncing off Rise. So much collectathonning and not much of fuck all else. Doesn't help that some areas run like absolute shite.

Unless you have a recent i7-level processor, would advise rushing through the initial areas until Soviet Installation, or Geothermal Valley - as it can start to run like sun-dried spunk by then and you could still refund it. Guess my i5 has had it's glory days, but no other recent title has given such grief at achieving a satisfactory framerate as this one has. Even some with ridiculously high-end rigs seem to have problems that manifest mostly in those particular areas.

Nah, it's your shitty PC that's the problem. Game runs flawlessly with ultra settings on my non-budget rig.

I haven't upgraded anything since buying a GTX 1080 last year.

Looks like feminists took away your ability to build a decent PC rofl

Same processor as Phant, plus a 1060.

Was just sayin' as folks had been reporting issues in certain areas on vastly more powerful tech. So suck my balls kid.
Only a tard would buy an upgrade for one game that ran like shit. Take your capitalism and shove it up yer leaky chuff :|

:alert:

Budget CPU and low-end GPU and he's angry at a graphics-heavy and CPU-intensive game for running like shit.

The blame-anyone-but-myself is strong in the trumplet.
