AIRFIX* was the plastic model kit many years ago that I assembled and painted one of these aircraft in camouflage colours.

* Airfix Wiki

EDIT: Normally a single seat jet fighter aircraft, this twin but they did have twin seats - Pilot; pilot and radar operator (night fighter); pilot and instructor (trainer)

This may be of interest to some. I stumbled across the videro (and others) Devastating Blow for All Russian SuperYachts!

I did think to put in the Ukraine topic but post here.

Quote:
Lloyds Register and DNV have withdrawn services to all Russian ships.
This story has mostly been ignored by the mainstream media probably because they don’t understand how significant it is.

Man, Airfix. That company's history is a wild ride. Recently I was trying to remember a kit range they or a similar company made in the mid ninties - It was a regular kit, but I think push-fit so you didn't have to glue, all the plastic was blue, and all the models were legit but had a decal set with shark teeth on them. Set was for kids (no paint, no glue), which I was, and I had a couple of the sets (apache-esque helicopter, some kind of 6-wheel APC). Can't find any info on the set now, sadly.

Ok that's pretty cute.

Shooters, specifically btw.. not vidyagames.
There's a miniseries on Netflix called High Score (ugh) which is about the impact of gaming and how devs from around the world influenced eachother in ways they probably never realised. It's pretty awesome. Also there's an episode dedicated to Romero

If you are into the classic 2001: A Space Odyssey you must watch this series...

... and if you are into video/photography, watch How Kubrick Made 2001: A Space Odyssey - Part 6: Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite [A] at about 13 minutes :!:

EDIT days later, a must watch.. Finish at Part 7 :up:

I have a deep interest into how visual or practical effects were realized in the earlier days of cinematography, prior to CGI.
I think it is fascinating, the magic of cinema really (when it is combined with good editing).

Douglas Trumbull is mentioned in that video. He started as a miniature builder, then transitioned to miniature-photography and would later develop techniques for visual effects shot in-camera. For 2001 he developed the Slitscan-technique for the famous "Flying into the Monolith" scene.
Later on he would co-develop whole filming/projection-systems. His body of work is pretty astounding.
