Love this. Their reactions are great

Strange thing :paranoid: I only fired up HL2 the other day for a look see and ventured through the first few levels.

Let me warn you, don't go down that rabbit hole. I did it half a year ago or so. Played through all of HL2, Ep1 and Ep2 and I gotta say, knowing that's where it all ends, getting to the end of Episode 2 was a swift kick in the teeth

Someone's not played Alyx yet thenEraser wrote:Let me warn you, don't go down that rabbit hole. I did it half a year ago or so. Played through all of HL2, Ep1 and Ep2 and I gotta say, knowing that's where it all ends, getting to the end of Episode 2 was a swift kick in the teeth

Re: Half-Life 2 Developers React to 50 Minute Speedrun
I don't have a VR headset so I can't play it

Re: Half-Life 2 Developers React to 50 Minute Speedrun
I haven’t played it either, but from what I understand is that it’s not a sequel, but a parallel story from Alyx’s perspective. Still no closure on the storyline.
Though if Alyx has good reviews, here’s hoping that Valve continues to make games in the HL universe or even continue with Gordon Freeman in some form.

I understood chronically it takes place between HL1 and HL2, but I can't say for sure

I really can't say any more, but Alyx's ending opens up a whole new slew of stuff, as well as being a MASSIVE tease.
It's great
If you're not likely to ever play it, maybe consider watching the ending on Youtube.

A massive tease.
Yeah so that's not great. See Ep2 and Valve's track record.
Have you read the recent interview about Ep3 and why it was never made (or probably never will be)? Valve can get fucked when it comes to HL.

Re: Half-Life 2 Developers React to 50 Minute Speedrun
So along comes MKJ, complaining about Valve teasing about HL3 and then proceeds to tease us with the reason why HL/Ep3 was never made but fails to give that reason or link to the mentioned interview.
THANKS A LOT, DICKWAD >:E

Teasers are actually great I've just read so I've done you good
Re: Half-Life 2 Developers React to 50 Minute Speedrun
Ah, I've read a similar thing before.
Does make me wonder though, why Half-Life: Alyx then, and not Half-Life 3 on VR? Or (and maybe it's dumb to speculate about this without having seen the HL: Alyx ending) was Alyx a way to test the waters and are they developing a VR Half-Life 3 right now?
