Great, we'll have 16% of the world population inoculated by the end of 2021 :up:
(edit: actually, 14% as only 90% is effective)

In the meantime, mink farms are hard at work making sure the virus mutates :rolleyes:

The fuck is wrong with the Danes? I had no idea mink was farmed like this. Seems barbaric, let alone completely dangerous for spreading viruses...

Don't think it's just the Danes. There's mink farms all over the world. Over here in The Netherlands it's been a hot topic as well.

Our government had, before corona came along, said that all mink farms were forced to close in 2024 because by then the practice would be outlawed. It was found that here as well, mink farms were hotbeds of corona infections and the government decided to reschedule forced closure to March 2021. This is a step in the right direction, but as it looks right now, letting all that stuff fester and spread for another 5 months seems like a bad idea.

So far 2.5 million minks spread across 69 mink farms in the Netherlands have been gassed because of corona infections. In Danmark, that number is somewhere around 15 to 17 million minks. It's like a furry holocaust.

That number is nothing out of the ordinary. In 2019 around 763 million animals were killed in slaughterhouses in germany alone.

The best part of this is the AstraZeneca version is meant to be preforming better than 90%. This one also done well against all age groups.

Poultry farms are way worse. In the egg-laying production lines, females are kept and males are literally tossed into a grinder alive because they cost farmers money to keep on the farm. A single person can mulch 1000 chicks an hour, and the UK alone employs about 100-150 chicken sexers.
