Funny People - 7.5/10

Wasn't what I expected it to be at all, in fact it was a little better.

Avatar: 10/10 it's sci-fi fir chrissake. Saw it at the Jordan's Furniture IMAX (at my 20 yo daughter's insistence). The animated/audio seats make it a live experience. Great movie.

Sherlock Holmes 8.5/10 Entertaining and left me looking forward to the inevitable sequel.

Daybreakers 5/10 I thought it was an interesting take on a vampire movie and seemed pretty enjoyable until the last 1/3 when it all went to shit.

Do you remember original? George Pal / Rod Taylor from 1960 :tear:

2002Version

Good entertainment but not a patch on the original :smirk:

Give the latest version 6.5/10 where as the original (view it if you get a chance) is a 8.5/10 IMHO

funny that you have mentioned the original time machine because i just powerd threw the old one just about a week ago!

its very dramatic and intense i always liked it.

also at that same time i power-speced "the incredible shrinking man" and the old "forbidden planet"

i have always liked the old classics

now i'm specing "little ceasar" with edward g!

Traitor
Slightly better than average spy/terrorist movie thanks to Don Cheadle and a story co-written by Steve Martin.

The Book of Eli - 7.5/10

Badass fight scenes. Good twists. Not so sure I'm sold on the overall story but it was a damn good experience from going in not knowing anything about what I was about to see.

I've been wanting to see this. Looks like it might be a decent twist on the post-apocalyptic story.

Original story. Good acting. Some funny parts. What more do you need?

Now I did wonder about this one and I am interested in this from a www site

Actress Vera Farmiga will star opposite George Clooney in Up in the Air.

What else has she been in? I am trying to place the face :smirk:

Daybreakers - not recommended. part Gattaca (sp?), part I Am Legend, part Buffy... all crap. the setup was ok, but for some reason they cut in a lot of cheesy horror movie bits (random bats flying across the screen and screeching). and the ending (last 10min or so) is pure 24 karat lolz.

I simply cannot believe that people are fawning over Downey Jr for his role in Sherlock Holmes. He didn't do any acting at all...he was simply his own, goofy self. In fact, I'd call it his worst acting performance since "U.S. Marshals".

I think people are getting swept up in the euphoria of the movie instead of being objective. In other words: People are fucked in the head.

I disagree with your characterization of his performance, to a point. But, I liken it to Denzel Washington's roles. He always plays the same guy (himself), but he, just like Deniro, does it exceedingly well.

Hurt Locker - was quite good. i somehow thought it was more of an indy film, but it really wasn't. solid acting throughout, IMO. gotta mention that i liked Generation Kill better, but i guess that's apples & oranges.
