A few questions. scripting/gui's/mappng

Post by twism »

Hey

First of all, I opend the default mainmenu gui file and edited it. When I view the Gui with the veiwer(included in the editguis), it works fine, but when I load the gui as quake4's mainmenu none of the buttons work :(... anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

I want to convert old quake3 maps into quake4 maps. how do I convert a quake3.bsp file into a .map file. And whats the best way to recreate a map, but still keep the geometry the exact same?

any help would be appreciated

Thanks

OK, so I figured out how to load an old q3 map geometry into quke4editor. Now I have the map, with no lights textures, jump pads, doors..... but I dont know how to add textures, I do it the normal way and the textures appear in the editor(on the brushes that I have applied them to) but when I test the map there are no textures :(

any ideas??

Does anyone know how to completly strip a map of all textures??

Or even how to remove a texture once its been applied

Sorry for ll the questions.... but im a complete mapping noob :(

ya outline a box larger then the map then
use the select tall button .. all brushes will be highlighted .. then select caulk texture .

you can't remove a texture but you can replace one.

use the middle button "mousewheel button" to apply the last used texture to any highlighted brush or face.
