How would I do this? In max 8 I had an importer, seem it doesn't work in later versions. Does anyone know a good way to get the geometry into a later version of max? Is it possible to export bsp to obj or something?

In 1.5 use the plugin called brushexport2 (or something like that) to export out the selected brushes to a obj file.

Edit: Be aware that the exporter also exports the vertex normals of the brushes witch can cause problems. Especially if you plan to use the brushes and build from them.

Try this plugin:
http://krximpexp.sourceforge.net/

Change the file extension of your .ase to .asc and import using the plugin.
