Oh.

BTW urgrund, some of the shots on your site look like the bump maps are way over used, especially on the barrels.

Lenard - I know what you mean... those are very early shots. It's much harder now to get a good balance than with older engines. Where the surfaces were lit simply under lightmaps or simply under N.L lights.

Trying to balance a scene that uses PRT/SH, shadowmaps and N.L, and where specular is further enhanced with HDR - add to this the lighting variations over dynamic day and night cycles - is much harder than getting it looking correct under a point light (such as D3). :)

Ok then I am glad you know what I mean. I read basically everything I can find about the game and it sounds really interesting. I can't wait to play it. Only 2 years...

Liked the more greeny look in your previous post better. How's performance?

Looks nice Kaziganthe! How did you get the fog and all to fade away like that? I've tried some stuff in the past with water, and it killed my framerate, is all that water doing much damange?

Are you working to a plan with that one or working out the layout as you go?

It's all in teh head. I do the layout on the go, see how it looks and then detail it. Got bored of the "layout first, detail afterwards" deal anyway.

you might want to add a bit of diversion of gamma/hue into the wooden pillars, could make it a bit more lively

What I love most about this forum, is the dedication, and good work people spit out here. Even if they are not hardcore mappers they atleast try, and that's what counts in the end!

mby add a pillar there? the horizontal collumn with a twist looks kinda weird cause it lacks visual support.

I'd add the brighter green collumn, and the darker green one also, if that wont hurt the gameplay too much in your opinion.

anyway, good work

Thanks for the comments. voodoochopstiks, that map isn't for the cpm contest. It would be slaughtered if it was entered into a contest... If you feel like having a look at the gameplay, the map is uploaded here: http://www.infosprite.com/members/lemonhead/layout4det.zip. The map is a little rough at the moment tho. corsair, i'll add those columns. Does look a bit like jam #17 at the moment. The map is going through a makeover at the moment tho, so this is what it currently looks like:
Image.

Interesting shot MaxGaMin.

No, I meant all the options you have when you right click on a .map file.
I assumes that's what you were trying to show, as there is isn't anything else in the pic that draws my attention. ;>

@H.Reaper
It seems you've been active for long?
This theme is partially copied from the one posted here in q3w.

@Fjoggs
bsp and md3 file have also quickie options such as run q3(default), 2map, view with radiant(default) and fix etc...
I'm still learning with trial and error.
Just hoping around more experienced people would post something worthy learning!

Say, that looks like my GtkRadiant Cobalt theme.

Image

CobaltUI_1-3-12.zip
Works with GtkRadiant 1.3.12 to 1.4.0 Possibly with 1.5.x too.
