You pick the key up, then you are allowed to open doors and shit. The key only respawns if you die.

Really? In what map does this work?

The new one. Elder, made by Sync Error.

It has the gold key, but added the silver and master key too, they are not used in any level from yet, from what I know.

I tried it in a botmatch. Nice map.
Did the author of this map collaborate with id Software to get this to work?

The author IS iD software.

Oh right, now I remember why SyncError sounded familiar. He's id's community community guy who brushed off Almost Lost as well, right?

So did he just send you an email asking if he could use the keys in QL? Just wondering how this sort of thing goes when us just mere mortals are chosen to be worthy enough to supply content for the gods of id Software.

He actually mailed me about it. I'm just really glad it's in there, cause I always liked those keys.

Its a interesting game mechanic to give keyholder advantages to use shortcuts.

heres a little something else im working on. I love the classic Quake 1 feel of maps like Claustrophobopolis. So this is obviously my inspiration.

No lights at the moment

Really cool man.
Just speculatively tooting my own horn here, but maybe syncerror saw the keys used in EntityPlus. A thought that makes me a bit moist inside ;)

To be completely honest, I don't think the layouts of my levels are that good.
Although, I have played less good levels in QL for sure - this is all very subjective ofc.

Yay!
Looks very Q1-ish!
Maybe a bit dark at the moment.
Try to add some Torches, i think this could look good and match youre theme.

EDIT: Looks nice to ME, i think my cheap-ass displays made me saying its too dark!
Now the sun went down i have alot better sight :D

Hi Eraser, been playing around with your entity+ mod.
I tried to play it together with a friend, but it looks like you removed the mp mode ?

Author:  CZghost [ 04-26-2015 03:33 AM ]
Post subject:  Re: Screenshots

@osn: E+ mod is supposed to be played single player, it is mod that fills up the right single player experience, similar to RTCW one, it is not supposed to be played online. If you want to include multiplayer mode (playing with friend as your teammate) Eraser would like to borrow you source code to do whatever you want with it :)

Yeah there's no cooperative mode. People have been asking for it when I still actively worked on the mod, but due to the lack of interest from mappers and the amount of effort it would take to make a cooperative mode work I never got around to implementing it. If I remember correctly, the mod actively refuses connections from other players because right now things turn to shit if there's multiple players.

Camel,
Holy shit, that is one epic map. It's hard to believe that it's an engine from 1999 running all that.
I've been playing a lot of Battlefield 4 and even their maps aren't as interactive. I really really like the elevator and the doors that can be activated manually.
I wonder what kind of gameplay this will be, teamgames must be interesting.
If only it would be possible to make destructable objects... (walls, doors, chairs etc)

Destructible objects are possible, check it yourself, it was played and made for a mod called Entityplus by Eraser.
Unfortunately I havent time to work on this mod to modify it for Stargate type needs, Eraser provides source code of his mod.
The changes I made were small, but one gametype I like on gmod hide and seek, that could have been interesting to have on q3 engine as well :)

Not exactly screenshots, but close enough :D

Screenshots of the map are mostly useless, as it's just a big maze. Here's one anyway though, to give at least some mass to the concept.

Oh also, with the exception of a really bad and really inconsistent FPS bug, this map is pretty much done. While I try and figure out a way to solve that problem, I'm going to look for more and more tokens to add, so if anyone has any suggestions for small, iconic items from random games, let me know!

The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

How did you make the maze? Just with Radiant? That must had be so long work. It's impossible to finish! You're a genius :D Anyway, the sounds are good, crazy :olo:

Post subject:  Re: Screenshots

I used a program to generate a maze (Daedalus), then made it by hand. After going through three different methods over the past year or so, I found one that actually worked, and was only a couple hours' worth of work. Getting all the models and sound files was the really hard part. I'm still looking for some quotes from Dishonored.

Author:  CZghost [ 06-11-2015 05:53 AM ]
Post subject:  Re: Screenshots

Dumb question - is there any easy way to solve the maze? :D If the answer is "no", then listing the map as experimental and funny design would be the best on lvlworld... It's pretty interesting, but I was not a big fan of mazes, so I give a try to others :D
