Okay, here a topic where I list my conversions of Q3 maps for Elite Force, a game based on the Q3 engine. Unfortunatly EF has not a very strong mapper base and the game's popularity is declining (well, the game is OLD). So to get lots of high quality maps very quickly for that community I decided to do conversions of Q3 maps (all of course with permission from the original author), since EF uses basically a slightly modificated Q3 engine.

This is what I do to convert Q3 maps for EF: I recompile the map with different pickup items, because Elite Force uses different weapons, powerups, ammo pickups. To do that I will have to recreate the .map file (bsp2map), change the entities in the .map file and recompile it (via parameter "-onlyents"). If possible I change the Q3 environment sounds to EF sounds. I have to compile a new AAS for the bots also. I also will have to change the arena file so it contains Elite Force bots and gametypes. Minor texture or shader leaks I have to fix with standard Elite Force textures or shaders or I have to write a new shader under the Q3 shader name using EF textures to recreate a similar shader (EF has a big single player portion with lots of textures so that's usually pretty easy).

Thanks! Did you post your maps to lvlworld.com? Because if so I probably already tested your maps and found out I could not convert them. And if your coming maps are released on lvlworld.com I will test them and get back to you if a map turns out to be convertable.

They are not on lvl cause I don't see them as final. The quality however is almost final, it's just minor stuff like texture optimizations and so...
Three of these are available on my site, http://www.zfight.com
However, I plan, this year, to see about making some of these fully final, so then they will be sent to lvl.

Unfortunatly all use Q3A stock material (textures, models), so I guess only "Industrial" is a possible candidate; here its leaks:

Your maps push the EF engine to the limit, since vanilla EF uses a very old version of the Q3A engine (loading the map results in a "Default model could not be registered" error). If "Industrial" can be converted, it won't run in vanilla EF but in the ioEF-Engine (a variant of the ioQ3-engine), which offers enough resources for the maps.

This should be much lighter than any other map I made. And it should have only custom textures too...

netradiant's q3map2 can decompile any q3 map keeping texture coordinates (outputs as brush primitives). The result is perfect with the only exception of every brush being structural. Maybe bsp2map also does it and what I say is irrelevant, but well, I thought it was apropiate to comment it, just in case.
