Just installed Q3 again and for some reason, I've been experiencing a substantial amount of image tearing in Q3. Doesn't seem to happen with any other game (D3, FarCry, HL2), just Q3 and Q3 Mods. Haven't tested out other Q3-engine games yet, though.

Running the game at 1024x768 resolution, graphics settings set at maximum quality.

17" Samsung SyncMaster 753DF CRT Monitor
85Hz Refresh Rate at 1024x768 resolution
Gainward 6800GT GPU

You can force Vertical Sync that will it, but it will lower the performance... not that it matters with a 6800GT.

Try in console: /seta r_displayrefresh yourrefreshratehere

I use the maximum my monitor will do at 800x600, which is 120Hz.

r_displayrefresh 120 is the max q3 can do, otherwise it resets to 0.
