Nice. My wife might like that. I'm campaigning for a smaller enclosure than we have now. It is fucking HUGE. If we move this spring, I'll hopefully be getting a new TV and entertainment center. I like that one.

I'd recommend it. The craftsmanship is good, it's very solid and the motions on the doors and drawers are all tight and quiet.

We were looking at a larger one at first, and I'm glad we got this one instead. It has plenty of room for all our components and media, but it closes up to be fairly compact so it doesn't take up the entire wall.

Since we just put our house on the market, I'm going to hold off on the TV until we move in to a new place and I see how big the family room is and what our viewing distance will be. I'll think I'll get the receiver soon, though. It will handle my current TV that only has component inputs and a new TV using HDMI only.

Good idea to wait.

Well... TV is showing 4:3 burn-in and displaying w/ a pink tone until it warms up for a few minutes. Probably going to lose a bulb soon. Might be bumping up the purchase.

I know there are more recent threads with more recent info, just wondering how rook's been lately while asking his question. We're finishing the basement and also have a 'the works' wantlist for my home theatre (mind you, this is very hypothetical, and based upon whether the massive Ultimate Electronics blowout sale--stores are closing--tosses me the right deals).

here's the list so far:
1. Samsung UN65C8000 65-Inch 1080p 240 Hz LED 3D HDTV
2. Sony DA5600ES - why not the 4600? I understand that multitasking and front end control of media repositories are better, and want to listen to shoutcast / pandora while playing xbox.
3. NOT top of the line- in-wall speaker system - typically, this will be easiest to upgrade when budget allows. Right now, looking at a BOSE Acoustimass 15 Series II
4. My kids already have the other tie-ins, xbox, win7 media repo, ps3, wii, etc.

poke holes in my setup, but know this: lots of life changes in the last year has made me flame retardant, so keep criticism limited to the setup and not the buyer, K?

You can occasionally find some great stuff on there.
