If you were gonna build a rig for this game....
Re: If you were gonna build a rig for this game....
This is what I put together about 6 months ago. It's even cheaper now, but you could probably find better stuff today if you research toms hardware and hardocp. Whenever I build, I pick cheaper shit that overclocks well.

Re: If you were gonna build a rig for this game....
I built a $1000 rig 2 months ago and it runs etqw like a dream.
q6600 (GO stepping)
4 gb Crucial ballistix 4-4-4-12
evga 8800GTS 512mb
I bought the quad because the GO version overclocks like a mofo...but even at stock speed, I can leave all the eyecandy on and suffer no jittering or slowdowns (w/ FPS unlocked).

His ETQW profile doesn't turn anything up on the stats page with a search. Playing only offline?
Re: If you were gonna build a rig for this game....
So far yes, I'm still learning and haven't played on any ranked servers yet. Do you guys have a regular time and place (or is that specified in the other threads above)? I don't have have a VOIP thingy...I'll try to get one in the next week or so.

Re: If you were gonna build a rig for this game....
Usually 9PM-1AM EST. We get together on the IRC channel and figure out when we're playing.
The game has built in VOIP and it works quite well. You'll need a microphone. I'm using the Microsoft LX-3000 USB headphone.
Add me to your friends list and I'll add you to the clan. That's 0bsidian with a zero - the Obsidian with an "o" is a noob who's intent on spoiling my rep.

Re: If you were gonna build a rig for this game....
Ok I got headset. My online account name is CoachHines so I'll add your name and you add mine. I'll find an IRC client and try it out tonight. I've not played online in many moons and never with voip so if I inadvertently fuck up, laugh with me.obsidian wrote:Usually 9PM-1AM EST.
