There is no date of course, but its "expected" q3/q4 2006. Thats all anybody REALLY knows...

At least it wont get pushed out to get an edge on its rivals, *cough* BF2142 *cough*

Pfft! BF 2142 has no chance compared to QW. Not unless they really screw up the game, which is unlikely considering the talent that they have at SplashDamage.

BF2142 started work after QW i think...? And its gonna be out before hand too...

i.e. they will release it half done, and then force you to buy updates for the next 3 years...

I dont think SD are worried about BF2142 :p

Nope... especially if you've seen the screenshots for BF 2142. Looks like one of the old Mechwarrior games.

and also considering that its going to use the BF2 engine with little to no Mod's done to it...

So basically, they are doing a futureistic Mod for Bf2... and selling it as a whole game :)

Yes, it's basically what Battlefield: Vietnam was to Battlefield: 1942.

Btw, I had a beer with a guy who works at Dice a couple of months ago, and according to him they're really just doing 2142 because of their contract with EA says so. They're really focusing on a new franchise now, and if there are going to be more Battlefield games after this one, they will probably be made by another studio or in-house at EA.

On Eurogamer.net they say that retailers specify May 25th as a release date. While I doubt it, it could be possible.

I just saw pre-order boxes at EB Games the other day when I bought God of War 2 for my bro.

Guess I'm a little behind.

Man I wish I could afford to upgrade my hardware for this. :(

I finally picked up both North American preorder kits, so I have both posters now. All I need now is the European dog-tags. :D

Buying games in Canada really stinks. I walked into both Best Buy and EB Games and neither stores even knew anything about Quake Wars. Upon mentioning it to one guy, his face lit up and ran into the back to get me a box. He came back and handed me a copy of Quake 4. :icon33:

Official word from upper management of both stores was that there would be no preorder kits in Canada. Yet on totally separate occasions, when walking into both stores for something else, I just happen to chance upon a copy of the preorder kits. At Best Buy, I took the box to the cashier and the guy had no idea how to process it since it was not an actual product with a bar code. 15 minutes later he finally rang it through as a layaway (not the correct way, but should work) and I was finally able to leave.

Something is seriously wrong with the gaming industry if it is this difficult to buy a game from 2 major retailers. And they wonder why people pirate.

no public beta test..?..game being delayed for no reason other than "it'll be out when it's done"..?..sounds like d3 and q4 all over again?
