What's the current state of the art for Quake 1 and 2 implementations for single player? I wanted to jump into these, but the glquake 1 executable doens't even start on Linux anymore, and I would assume Quake 2 would be in a roughly similar state. |

I've always used Fitzquake for quake1. I wouldn't know for q2. |

Vanilla, or for multiplayer, r1q2 all those q2 engines out there just focus on the gl renderer only with stupid particle systems with none of the annoying quake2 gl bugs fixed. |
