Anyone else tried this? Hard as hell to control. But if I remember correctly, it seems like I tried to play this with a d-pad on some platform (can't remember) and it was hard as hell then too. So I really don't think it's the iPhone's fault. It's just hard to play with two thumbs instead of all your fingers...

Played it on Gameboy Advance maybe? I remember that playing reasonably well. How exactly do you control it on the iPhone?

I've been playing Doom, Duke 3d, Wolf and even Quake 1, 2 and 3 in GL on my n95 for ages now... All of them smooth as hell, good looking and fine to control.

Keys > Touch Screen any day, at least when its a choice of one or the other and not a combination...

Its a shame Epic never released the source to Unreal or I would likely be playing that, too :(

Is this the official port?
From this really cool Carmack article, I understood the official one has only been sent out to beta testers so far.

Okay, the official iPhone / iPod Touch Doom has been released.

Anyone tried it yet?

Apparently Carmack is interested in doing a Rage based game for iPhone as well.

Doom classic, resurrection and Wolf 3d platinum are just a few bucks now. Actually three, two and one buck, respectively.
