Quake Live now with Mac and Linux support

Post by DooMer »

So you feel left out. Watching your Windows brethren having all this fun while you stubbornly wallow in elitist pride. Now you can be proud to use a non conforming OS AND have fun.

Oh, and there's a new instagib CTF mode.

Quake Live causes my Windows Vista x64 to become unresponsive and I'm forced to do a hard reboot. It seems to happen towards the end of an online multiplayer match.

Hopefully Mac/Linux versions work better.

Edit: Mac version seems to work fine on the current 24" iMac (sadly not mine), but doesn't work on my older Core Duo white iMac. :( I'll have to test the Linux client sometime.

Some important changes yesterday. Including shotgun pellet spread and:

Added cg_HitBeep <0/1/2/3> (default: 1) to play different tones based on the amount of damage done to an opponent. 0 = off, 1 = single tone (old style), 2 = new multi-tone option, 3 = reverse multi-tone option.
