IMO, they are not pieces of shit for my money. The original was purchased way back in mid 1990's, the DC02
model. I have always been one to buy early any new technology
I forget why it died but only got rid of it in the last 2 or 3 years. I inherited the next
model, the purple & yellow hepa filter one. My Dad was going to chuck it in the bin and I said I'd have for parts back around 2005. I took it to the Dyson repair shop and it was a simple rubber seal replacement costing about $15. So I now (then) had two Dyson's.
My third and current (only) is maybe 10 years old. I walked into the electrical retailer one day and they were having a half price Dyson sale. I couldn't leave without one
TL;DR I have owned 3 and yes, I'd buy again.
