Got a goalie rental gig for a tournament in a town a couple hours away tomorrow and they're covering my gas in addition to paying me for each game. Owned.

I've since been declared unmissable and have been given a permanent contract and a raise, fuck yeah!

I am with you on this Ryoki as it did feel so good to me too when it happened about 4 years ago.

I still remember at the interview, I told them they'd be mad to appoint any of my competitors to the position :) and I guess, being the confident player I am, that's what won me the role. I was made permanent from a contractor and handed a nice pay rise to boot. Sweet!

A work dispatcher for the local water authority, repairs and maintenance.
I was just 1 in the team of about 8, then made full time and the Team Leader.
It was magic

I've commanded many more and been in charge (custody) of probably 700+ but they are stories for another day.

What's the story, are you doubled over in agony after taking a nut shot, or just practicing a standard goalie stance?

I thought a goalie stance, and a nice looking battle suit Captain Mazda.

This weekend I am off to the wedding of a nephew some 2 hours away up in the mountains.

Booked 2 nights at a local bed & breakfast.

Bloody weather turned cloudy with showers in the last day or two but hopefully it clears for the ceremony. It's a bit cooler south and up there so finally unpacked my winter clothes.

June here already tomorrow :smirk:

Note to self: Have to start on those pelmets and roller blinds removal on my return.

I did a charity rock climbing marathon last Saturday, our team of 4 raised over $1300 for the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and climbed a total distance of 8696 feet in 4 hours. Of that height, I personally climbed a total of 2516 feet, with the highest continuous climb of 550 feet! By comparison, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai is 2716 feet, the CN Tower is a measly 1814.

This Sunday I will be biking across Toronto for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Currently, I'm just $60 short of my $500 fundraising goal. Usually, I do a fair bit of training for this event every year but with all the climbing I've been doing, I've gotten lazy on the biking. I'll have to just wing it.

So, two endurance based fundraisers in a week, clearly I didn't not plan this well.

I am building a hexacopter aluminium and balsa wood frame and have ordered 6 295 Kv motors, 17 " props, 6 Esc, 3 Lipo 6000 4S batteries, DJI Naza-m V2 controller, DJI PC Total Station, GoPro3 Fpv HD video camera with receiver and transmitter to my PC.
I am building it so that I can do Magnetometer Surveys in very dense bush and High Quality Lydar with Airphotos.

I just aquired an exploration license on a patch of ground with high potential for gold and copper but has very Very thick sharp pointy nasty thorn trees.

neato. was watching a Time Team ep the other day where they used lydar to map a Roman iron smelting place that was in some woodland (that couldn't just be cut down)

perhaps you'll find Kaiser Wilhelm's 'place in the sun' buried under those thorns :)
