I just got back from Batman Begins.
That
movie owned from
the first minute to
the last. My only gripe, which is a tiny one at that, was that
the director kind of teetered between Batman getting
the girl at
the end. While he didn't get her, it was still happier and more satisfying than Spider-Man getting
the girl at
the end of
the first Spidey film. If
you ask me, it should have been clear that he did not get
the girl. Though I don't know much about
the history of Batman in
the comics, so
the director may have just been sticking closely to
the story in that respect.
I also was not a fan of
the Batmobile, but I won't fault it because it's kind of early in Batman's career for him to have ALL his gadgets finely tuned. Plus
the car isn't exactly efficient at catching crooks while
the tank is. That doesn't mean
the car doesn't look cool.
I liked
the reference to
the Joker at
the end, even though I think it was a diversion from
the storyline (wasn't Batman responsible for
the guy becoming
the Joker, or was that just in
the movie adaptation of
the comic?).
10/10
This
movie is a must-see.
The only Batman
movie better was
the original.
