One of the guys in my team at work died. He went from having stomachaches to being diagnosed with intestinal cancer to being deemed terminal within 4 months.
Funeral is today. Strangely enough his wife of little over a year requested that I'd be a pallbearer. Apparently his job was his everything.

It's surreal, like a tv show where everything always happens in the workplace like the characters have zero social connections outside their colleagues.

He was 41 years old.

Pretty sad.

We had about 100mm of rain fall down last night. Construction crews have been working on our road which is a dead end road and we live at the very end. The parts they've dug up and replaced with earth were washed away this morning and I really wish I still had a jeep driving through it in the car, mud on white is no good.

That sucks MKJ. Sorry for your, loss?

It's scary shit. Especially since I've been having problems for over a year now. Got a whole team of doctors looking at me. Neurologist, Cardiologist, ENT, Gastroenterologist...etc. Just did a barium test last week and still haven't heard anything on the results...

Good mate of mine died from throat cancer this year. He ignored a sore throat for months then got told he had 6 months, but managed to hang on for 11.

sucks man. i had a friend die at 42 from lung cancer (heavy smoker) and another (late 40s) diagnosed with terminal lung cancer 2 years ago (never smoked). luckily the second friend got compassionate access to some baller unapproved drugs from Pfizer that kicked the ass of every tumour in his lungs and he's still going strong

fuck cancer

Scariest thing about cancer is certainly the fact that it seems to hide right until the moment it becomes too powerful to deal with. Very sad story MKJ.

Annual full body scans should be made available and affordable for everyone...

Oh for real? How much does a full body scan cost in the UK? And can you do it annually?

I looked a little into this and apparently there are a ton of places to get a full body scan for $500-$1000. So I guess it's affordable and available after all...

That sucks to hear about your co-worker MKJ. Cancer is such a fucking weird disease. Some people get it, beat it with few issues, other people get it and struggle for fucking years, other people get it and just croak in the blink of an eye. My uncle just died of esophagus cancer recently... what a way to go. Near the end I stopped trying to figure out if he was dying because it was too painful for him to even drink water, or if the cancer was actually killing him. :disgust:
