Wish me luck as I am in contact with their support area.
Just to update. I ended up fixing this myself :smirk:

Here's my last ot them where ever they are on the globe.
Thanks for another email advice.

This is proving difficult and it shouldn't be but I continue...

I inserted the original NETGEAR softward CD/DVD from the packaging again. Last time it wouldn't install.
The software asked I check the NETGEAR web site for updates so I did and downloaded (the latest?) file Setup-V1.2.0.6 to my desktop.

I installed and still incredibly get the same error message ! Not happy at all !

I figured I would have to fix this myself somehow...

I uninstalled everything NETGEAR I could find, best I could and then went into File Explorer to find any mention of NETGEAR.
I searched "*gear*" and found many related entries I then DELETED.
I rebooted and searched the C drive again. Again I removed any mention of NETGEAR. There was one.

I checked CONTROL PANEL, Programs and Features and see the NETGEAR Driver still there? I try to remove and I get an error message (screenshot).

I now reasoned the last setup (originally on 12 Jan left something there) so I set about reinstalling and used the setup file, the CD/DVD suggested and downloaded today. Maybe that will work....

After a number of restarts, I can finally say I do not get that annoying error message "failed to run service" from your NETGEAR WNA3100M..

I had 4 screenshots to upload but it seems it takes only one at a time so I will attach the one with the error code for your information.

Thanks for the emails

All my HDDs have reached the end of their life (almost 5 years uptime), so they need to be replaced (2x 500GB + 2x 2TB).

Right now it's gonna be this:

2x Intel 520 240GB RAID-0
2x Crucial BX100 500GB RAID-0
2x Mushkin Reactor 1TB RAID-0 (that you see in the picture)
1x Seagate Backup Plus Fast 4TB (that you see in the picture, internally it's RAID-0 by the way)

I have 4 more SATA ports available and a 20Gbps m.2 port on the motherboard.

My end goal is to add 4x SATA drives in RAID-0, plus an m.2 PCI-E x4 NVMe SSD depending how their prices evolve.

Too unreliable, too slow, takes too much space inside the case. I don't need that much storage space for music/movies. With games being 60GB in size already, I'd rather run SSDs.

xeno was a badass tdm clan, that you will never find before the advent of google...

I watched idiocracy and likened it to my homestate of Louisiana. The ending of the movie wasnt really an ending.. it was just the realization of the beginning of the end...

just deadlifted 353 pounds for 5 reps (bodyweight 173). And none of this sumo, mixed grip, or bouncing reps shit either. Been adding 2kg a week for a while now, and still milking the linear progression.

I'd like to say Weight Watchers but that might be advertising so I will say this, I attend weekly meetings and stand on their scales. For me it is not so much the diet but my application and a fair bit of walking. There's a bonus or two as well as the walking clears the head/mind and you get a reasonably good colour tan. The other is I mix with people at the meetings you'd never interact with. A bit like Alcoholics Anonymous is some respects.

Speaking of alcohol, I have dropped consumption maybe by 50%. I still like my beers and wine :)
