Weird, everyone here is able to get one if they want it. Even kids. The amount of people choosing not to get it is disgusting though.

Something went wrong when I made an appointment for my first shot so I had to make a new appointment which means I'm getting my first shot 5 days later than initially planned :(

boooo
I phoned our helpline thing to find out when my first was scheduled. Turns out it was somewhere 20mins drive away, when we knew there was a centre 5mins down the road. Rescheduled it with the guy on the phone to the closer centre and got an appointment 3 weeks earlier to boot...

Why y’all waiting so long for the second shot? Aren’t you supposed to get it 28 days after the first?

I got mine back in March. I know, lol, America sucks, etc…

According to the WHO it's ok to wait 6 weeks between shots. Some vaccines can even be given 3 months apart although they don't specific which

Pfizer#1 this morning, and the nurse told me I'd hear "within 12 weeks" for the 2nd one, so there's the 3 months anyway.

In terms of timescales, our appointments are mostly managed by NHS, and Scotland has been quite solidly vaccinating older population first (plus at-risk health groups), so without exception everyone I know older than me is either fully double dosed or just about to get their second.

I think at various times the vacc centres have advertised drop-ins for 2nd dose, which I think is the case across UK, so we could probably get the 2nd one fairly quickly.

I can't control it. Shots are administered and booked by my local health authority. I just get a text message telling me that I'm eligible to book and I go online and pick a time slot that works for me. Canada's roll out has not been as quick as you guys down south as far as I can tell. We started out by vaccinating old people and health care workers. Then they realized that's a bit of a stoopit idea because old people are already not going outside much anyway (cuz they're fuckin' old, yo), it's all the idiots in their 20's who DGAF and are running around spreading it, etc. So they accelerated the vaccination schedule massively. We're scheduled to pretty much be back to normal in about a week (BC, Canada). I'll be pleased if I get 4 to 8 weeks of summer and we can fuck off with mask wearing. I've been doing it the whole time but fuck me, I am so fucking tired of it.
