His comments came shortly after the US saw its highest daily death toll from coronavirus, recording 4,591 deaths in 24 hours on Thursday.

Also bravo on putting more of your citizens at risk and trying to political point score by only endorsing the protests in democratic states and ignoring the republican ones.

What's sad is Americans that support him don't blame him for the deaths. Oh that was unavoidable they'll say.

Quite a few of the deaths will be unavoidable in that it's very difficult to stop something like this indefinitely. But his reaction at the start was woeful. He called it a hoax for Christ sake.

Jacksonville Beach 26 minutes after reopening. Isn’t Florida still a hotbed for COVID-19? Do people in Florida have permanent heat stroke affecting their ability to use common sense?

They'd rather see 2.2 million dead Americans than deal with the economic problems.

California's population is twice that of NY, but the latter has nearly 10x as many cases. It's pretty fucking crazy.

Yes but California doesn’t have a city like New York City. People stacked on top of each other. It’s a perfect incubator...

I'd say San Francisco and maybe LA are pretty close in density. Most US cities are also filled with pollution and filth, meaning people's immune systems are already barely functioning as it is. Then once you consider the dirty water, garbage food, poor hygiene standards, lack of education, crumbling infrastructure, and zero healthcare, it's no wonder the US has failed so hilariously.

But according to gwamps, things are great :olo:

So there's these "reopen" protests in various american states where people want the quarantine measures to be lifted because, uh, freedom or something.

Someone on Reddit has dug a teeny bit deeper into this phenomenon and uncovered some quite predictable but nonetheless worrying results:
https://www.reddit.com/r/maryland/comme ... re/fnstpyl

it's not a long read, but some bulletpoints for those of you who have the attention span of a brick wall:

- Many of the campaign pages on social media use the exact same template for the description texts.
- Following links on the various pages brings you to campaign websites and websites of gun rights activists in the various states. All of these sites have been registered by the same registrar on the same date.
- The group behind the liberate Minnesota campaign has strong ties to Betsy DeVos.
- Google Analytics ID's used on the various site all point to the same Google account.

A clear case of astroturfing going on here.

What are the chances that it’s Russia pushing these pages through the Pro-gun websites, trying to cause unrest and possible gun violence?

Pretty high although there appears to be ties to Betsy Devos, not sure what her angle is though but she's usually on the stupid side of things.

Betsy's brother, Erik Prince, is the founder of Blackwater, a private military contractor.
