Just reading the news now :ninja:
(CNN)Actor Tom Hanks says he and his wife, actress Rita Wilson, have been diagnosed with coronavirus.
In a statement posted to Instagram, Hanks said he and his wife were traveling in Australia when they were tested after exhibiting symptoms like tiredness, body aches, chills and "slight fevers."

TV late shows are beginning to air without their regular studio audiences. It was kind of weird to just hear laughter from a few writers and other staff scattered around the seats....

I find it extremely odd that Apple added a covid-19 emoji in November of last year when they added 27 new ones on that iOS update. Look under the “objects” emojis in the keyboard field right next to the Pill emoji and under the DNA emoji.

Our (german) minister of finances together with the minister of economy today announced "unlimited credits" for the economy in the struggle that has already arrived and is expected to get even worse.
The overall possible pot is one trillion euros. (I used google translate for this as german has different counting methods than english. In german it's one billion. 1000000000000.)

This is just surreal. I mean it has been one fucking surreal week already but this.... sounds like the first step in preparation to shut down all unnecessary businesses for some time.
It's good news for the company I work for since in maybe 2 or 3 weeks we would have run out of assignments anyway.

On a personel level my father wants to have his 80th birthday party together with 30 other elderly people in one private room of a restaurant.
I won't attend it. I have to go to work. I have to meet and get in touch (not literally) with other people. I will get infected at some time if I haven't already.
And it's not even just about his or my or the other 30's individual health but about all of those attending as possible spreaders after that meeting.
Even Merkel yesterday made the recommendation on a public press conference: All unnecessary gatherings should be avoided or cancelled.
Yet my father wants to have his party. Because all of it is just panicking and this is just one gathering of 30 people and so on.

I hope most people all around the world will understand that now is the time for each individual to make more or less drastic changes to his or her life.
Use your phones to talk to others, don't meet them in person unless you have to.

I know we’re still fighting this, but can we please force China to put an end to these wild animal markets? It’s fucking horrific in its own right. And now it’s caused this. I’ll leave the harsh Chinese comments to feedback, if he’s still around...

What makes a good zombie survival movie isn't about the zombies being monsters and eating people, but about how perfectly well functioning people in society dissolve into stabbing each other in the back and becoming the real monsters.
