I've been extending my rail tunnel still further and signposting places of interest (mines) along the way.

Still, occasionally and not thinking :smirk: I dig down on ore and fall into lava. That really cheeses me off. I re-spawn at my original start point and have to track back to where I was. Now I've taken to adding to that spreadsheet of Alantean Temples, other places of interest. I only use the cheat teleport as a last resort.

Question: Anyone know if you can recover your inventory after a lava accident?

As I travel about the world I sometimes stumble upon some of my old way points and caches
I used to stack sand many blocks high on high ground and put torches atop so as to mark the trail back home (along time ago now).

that's what I'm feeling. I heard there's villages and temples to find so I started walking in one direction for quite some time.
Jungle to hills to snow to jungles to hills to.. etc. :[

I remember building my first boat and setting sail (not that there's wind) across an ocean, landing on foreign soil then trying to navigate my way home. That was fun.

I eventually got back home but seemingly days later.

you should just make a portal to the Nether, then walk for a 5,000 blocks in any direction, make another portal then make your way home from there

40,000 block trek

I will check but I am sure my (overhead/and powered) rail goes 20k from my spawn and from there I built a portal to the Nether where I built another rail line (in creative) that was 10 or 20k long. That was boring :smirk:

I will check the numbers and come back :D later.

Yes, had a fly about.

One day at home I built a portal and teleported to the Nether then dug to the surface to discover Hell
So starting at (Hell) co ordinates 0 131 20 I built a 10k length of powered rail out to 10002 131 22.
There I built another portal and teleported to some 80k from my home :tear:

I have been using it so long I have forgotten the original :smirk: and hadn't noticed.
Note to self: Try some more texture packs!

 seremtan, do you know the name of your pack?

Well today I was flabbergasted!

I have been working a mine or 2 I discovered on my underground railway construction. If you have ever played and explored (read mined) these mines you will know they seem to go on forever. The first mine in this set was huge and I must have taken a dozen mine carts away of loot.

I then seemingly stumbled into another expansive (massive) mine complex. Just now I dug a little beyond the mine boundary and fell into a huge and I mean huge complex. It has been days down here.

I have a suspicion these mines actually grow as the game gets older
