I bought a Titan X about a year ago, I will believe the $350 1070 is just as powerful when I see some real world benches.

Really there is no difference in looks. Only time I even notice anything is when I'm shaving and that's more of a feeling. Even when u squeeze the sac it feels the same. Biggest difference is my sex drive is through the roof. Guess it's because my nut it overcompensating for losing its twin...u mad?... :olo: ...

I'm very thankful that I can leave for months on end, come back to an nvidia thread about the latest tech, and we can't go even a few pages without the unusual number of testicles supposedly attached to scared coming up.

I'm surprised so many of you want to wait for the 970 to drop in price, why not hang on a little bit longer for lower-end pascals?

Gonna take a while. I'm guessing Q4 2016.

Yeah, it depends how long you can wait I guess. I want big Pascal, too, but I also need something that works meanwhile.

If we look at GM20x, the release dates go like this:

GTX 980: 18 Sep 2014
GTX Titan X: 17 Mar 2015
GTX 980 Ti: 02 Jun 2015

So almost 8.5 months between GTX 980 and GTX 980 Ti.

Not really. To be honest, 4-way SLI is crap and Kepler is old tech. Although in theory my setup should have enough raw horsepower to run newer games, I get crazy frame drops due to low GPU usage.

Rise of the Tomb Raider runs at 20 fps in certain environments and there's nothing I can do to fix it. Also games pretty much don't work at all on Win 10 DX11 or DX12 so I'm stuck using Win 8.1.

I tried all settings, nothing changes. I can have 60-70 FPS with good GPU usage in most areas, but in some areas GPU usage drops and the game runs at 20 fps.

That's the thing, you're using 2nd gen Maxwell. It's a long way from Kepler as far as architecture and drivers/DX12 support go.
