I ain't done with the campaign yet, but it's so fun killing things. I play through the original Doom and Quake like once a year, I can see myself playing through this one every so often as well.

Useful for the PC folks

The 1080 should crush this game, especially at 4k

My dual-770 doesn't break a sweat in 1440p, it's pretty well optimized.

No idea about any of that. Just a solid review to go with the 92% Steam user average

Best surprise this year. I haven't experienced pure joy like I did with the long-distance glory kill upgrade, full power-up upgrades, and the berserk powerup. Rip and tear.

Aye, that Steam average is mighty impressive for a new 'AAA' release. That's partly the incentive to pull the trigger. Summer sale looms once more though, and the wishlist is chock full already. :paranoid:

Just do it. Nothing on your list will make you smile as much as this :D

Interesting, I haven't noticed even the slightest FPS drop in huge firefights.

I'm itching to play this but Fuck me if I'm gonna do it on my 460gtx. And I'll be crazy to upgrade just yet.

The dann 970gtx hasn't dropped in price basically since its release

You're really lucky, man! I'm stuck at 25-35 fps regardless of graphics settings @ 1440p. This is on 365.19 and Win 8.1.

I'm so done with 4-way SLI, never again. Almost no 2015-2016 game works properly

Makes sense that Nvidia is ending official support for it with Pascal.

Holy shit, this game.
From the first second I gained control of my character - a mere 3 seconds in, cutscenes be damned - I was almost shocked at the movement speed. It actually took me a minute to get used to.
Cranked up the FOV to 100 to make it feel even faster.

Fast forward: when I beat the first map and the actual title card came blasting on screen I eased back onto the couch, realizing I actually moved to the edge of my seat. I kept losing sight of those imps now that they climb up the walls n shit.

ps the fact that the end of the first level is actually an elevator switch is a nice throwback :)

Uniballed cancerfaker :olo:

The music is very bland tho. I wish they did remastered versions of Bobby Prince's tracks.

I am nowhere near started here as I just spent a few minutes outside in the campaign, exploring and trying to work out these weapon enhancements they offer :smirk: ... I am only a few steps into this game and  the atmosphere... feels like you are on Mars

Awesome in the graphics area

The music in the trailers sounded like a mix between the original DOOM music and the DOOM 3 music and then amped up to 11. I liked it. Havent heard how it is in-game.

Sorry Mazda - can't say I agree on that one...unless you count the guitar distortion, which to be fair is totally a Battlefield original concept :smirk:

The in-game music is much closer to the Battlefield sound and it's just lazy. Some proper music would've been nice along with the option to always have it playing or just during combat.

If the biggest gripe that you have is the music then I'd say it's done pretty well.

I'd also say the campaign is bloody short and there isn't enough monster variety. Overall it's a fun game.
