Strange project involving Neill Blomkamp (District 9):

Have no clue, Volume 1 looks pretty badass though.

Stalker - 10/10 - Tarkovsky masterpiece

"what most people call passion is just the friction between themselves and the outside world."

and now there's a new restored 2K version (18th July) which i gotta say looks way better than the (overpriced) DVD i have:

Me, I watched Firefox (1982) last night on blu-ray. It has been years.
Directed and Produced by Clint Eastwood.

You've probably seen it but it you haven't is is a good watch.
7.5/10

Anyone here seen Dark City (1998)? Just asking because it was recommended :smirk: and it is old by standards of today.

Memento - 9/10 Interesting and original story, well made, well acted, felt a bit pretentious and forced at times.

La La Land.
More entertaining than I thought, but sorta boring anyway. Emma Stone and her pretty face makes up for a lot of that though.

You give it a 9/10 although it "felt a bit pretentious and forced at times"?
Yet a 9? Why?

I'd give it a 9, too. But to me, having watched it at the cinema when it came out, it was not pretentious at all. It was very Indie and very well thought of, kinda meta of what we were used to see.

Why would you give it a 9 and not a 10?

Spider-Man: Homecoming - 8/10
Easily one of the better Spider Man films. It's a bit more light-hearted than previous entries and Michael Keaton did an excellent job as Vulture.

Yeah, was alright. I still think the first one is the best out of the three.

Despicable Me 3 was excellent though. Easily the best of the three imo.

I like the 1st, both my lads were obsessed with it for a year. I thought the 3rd was good with a solid story.

Many films.....

Magnolia - WTF/10 - Not even sure what to say...really.

Superman vs Batman - 4/10 - Fuck sake. This had so much potential but instead of thinking about how good this could have been I am thinking about the "adverts" they put in the middle of the film. Go visit Marvel and see how its done.

Suicide Squad - 2/10 - Sweet Jesus :/

The Godfather - 9/10 - still as awesome as the day I watched for the first time it some 18 years ago

Bridge of Spies - 6/10 - enjoyable film to be fair. Hanks was as easy to watch as ever

Zodiac - 6/10 - solid film. You can see RDJ sort of getting into the part for Iron Man during this.

Oceans 13 - 5/10 - the weakest of the lot....I wonder what Oceans 8 will hold

Loads more old ones that I dare say you don't care about
Many more but I can't remember them off the top of my head

Indeed. The other two are terrible, with 12 leading the pack.

Wasn't the ending the same in 12 and 13? Something about Matt Damon's mom and dad being ex machinas respectively. Shit.

Re: The last movie you saw

With the soon to be released new movie, War for the Planet of the Apes (2017) I sat down last night to watch through these two movies, Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) so as to 'catch up' :smirk:

I probably would have entered a score here before :info: so there is no need now but I will say, both were enjoyable.. Watch 'em before seeing the new one as I did :!:
