Life 4/10

"oh... a strange alien life-form. How neat. Well, let's touch it."
Both have the same problem, both sucked. Franchise bonus to A:C in telling a longer story.

Characters in alien movies have always been retarded, nothing new there.

the Alien franchise is the new Highlander franchise, only with two decent outings instead of one

I should watch the whole franchise with a Retard-Meter once it's done. True that. Why though does Aliens stil rank so high with me? About an 8. Totally retarded military style personel thrown at the problem? It can't get more retard-points, I guess.

Kong: Skull Island

I'd give it an 7.5 out of 10.

VFX don't let it down and look great in places. The creature design is pretty good, you can tell they had fun. The action is decent and it's not a constant slideshow of flashy lights and bullshit going off for a change.

Also, Vietnam aesthetic

I liked it too, but my god was the acting bad. Samuel L. Jackson, the US soldiers, and the two ethnic "scientists" were fucking awful to listen to.

I didn't mind Samuel L Jackson or the soldiers but those scientists might as well have had TOKEN written on their forehead, I couldn't quite work out if their entire presence was supposed to be ironic.

It's funny how Hollywood pushes for token multiculturalism even if it makes its own movies historically inaccurate.

Through what way of transmission have you finally been able to see this mediocre movie? And in what desert do you live? Just curious.

Dunkirk, meh.

I don't think there was enough story to make a movie. Felt slow and too many moments they tried to make dramatic but you just didn't care.

Hmm, was gonna see that because Nolan movies are usually cinematic spectacles. Hold off for BR?

Oh, that cinematics were great. I don't regret going.

I went to see it just because it was Christoper Nolan. Maybe my expectations were too high. I will probably give it a second chance when it comes to BR.

It had that intense background score like with the dark knight. That felt a little weird at times in a WWII movie. It tried to drive some of the dramatic scenes but I wasn't feeling it.

Post your thoughts if you go.

A cool video about Shepard Tones which are prevalent in Nolan movies.

Cars 3. Pretty good, basically the movie Cars 2 should've been, properly dealing with Doc Hudson's absence.

Outstanding graphics, the beach scene and birds eye view of a forest made me look twice to see if they weren't using real life footage :o

Uses the tired trilogy trope of carbon copying scenes from the first movie in an attempt to.. yank nostalgia chains I guess? The movie became weaker because of it.

The Dark Tower: 2/10 worst book to film adaptation I've ever seen. Save your money. Avoid this film.
