Had a little bit of time this morning so made some progress. I think the brown fog works pretty well.

@ dONKEY, I agree, looks better. fog is almost always a good idea )) I just felt some lack of color diversity due to the prevalence of gray. and some personal problem - me a little strain purely red (little) spots on this background. as for me, they'd better be a bit brownish, purple, but not pure red. but of course I do not insist on anything! )) perhaps it is generally memories of the jumppads from Kepple Bay. but the color balance of the Angkor the flag is much more pleasant, IMHO.
although, most likely, it's just a matter of taste.

@dONKEY, upper screen (from the last 3) is damn fine, btw! I wanted to make something like this too, when the player jumps from above through the lianas. :)

Yea hey what is that?

@ Donkey, you are almost there =D Too bad about the black lines in the texture, on the edges like when they are sticking out like that.

Those spiders seem thematically inappropriate...

I was kind of unsure about the spiders too but thought they looked cool. So with you mentioning this as well I found a different solution for the spiders.

I only just noticed that they're firing machine guns! I see the gun poking out of their faces lol. At least mount it on top of their heads :p

Ofc I could see that it was a laser and a breakable wall, but obviously eraser would not just show that, it had to be attached to something else, which it was =)

I don't mind the spider, I actually encourage you to seek out more models like that, it's what you need, not the Q3 regular bots. Don't matter much if it don't suit 100%

Well if you want giant spiders, use dirt walls, or throw up cobwebs in their area. I know the map isn't finished, so it's not a big deal, just my opinion.

As I said, I already found a different solution for the spiders. They spawn in a different spot now which is more suitable for spiders to appear.

Preview of the upcoming Uber Arena map Daedalus (some elements in the screenshot subject to change). Took some inspiration from the original Deus Ex while building this map.

Been doodling at lunchtimes again. Making some new textures and putting together some ideas. The sky and the floor tiles are Hipshot’s from Hipshot_m13, the rest of the stuff I’ve made from scratch for the project.

I assume the lit up section in the center is from the light the sky emits? I'd change that color to be a tad more blueish and less yellow. The sky looks like a mid-day spring sky while the light it emits looks more like it's taken right before sunset (in terms of color).

Ah, good point. The sky and lightning are still very temporary. I’ll certainly remember that later on. Spent my lunchtime making some Chinese lanterns to fill up the overhead space.

My lunchtime doodling continues. The Old China Town map is evolving into a CTF level. I’ve just about got the base area finished now. Still a little bit of tweaking to the terrain mesh is needed, to allow room for a jump pad at each end of the raised area. It’s a bit tight atm.

Here's something I've been working on and off for the last couple of years hoping to have it finished by the end of the year.

Little bit of an update.
Both sides of the map are done, I’m happy with the middle ground now.
My biggest issues have been compiling a bot navigation file. I need to build a proper bot only map to compile a .aas I made a quick version to test. -fixaas is weird. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes it borks the lightmap, sometimes you need to hex edit the aas
I still haven’t tried Hipshot’s trees...

Looks nice. One thing that immediately struck me as odd, though, is the awning overhanging on the chains. The pic is a bit low res and dark, but it looks like the (metal) beam attached to the chains is floating out of itself. There's no structural support to keep it in that position (assuming the green/white striped material is cloth). You'd need metal beams on the sides as well. It might also look more era appropriate if those parts are made out of wood rather than metal.

Just a small nit pick, but many small details like these do eventually add up to have a big impact.
