Why don't Europeans play American Football?

LOL. Actually, the most popular sports worldwide are:

Volleyball 998 Million (participants)

Basketball 400 Million

Table Tennis 300 Million

Football (or soccer to the Americans) 242 Million

Basketball is a fun spectator sport - nice combo of action, skill, and strategy.

With Football scores often so low (i.e. 1-1 or penalty kick winners), I can imagine why the Yanks find it deadly boring.

With American Football's millions of rules and shit, I would imagine most Euros have no idea whats happening nor why.

lol, 'pads are for pussies'. Right. Look, if American football isn't your thing, that's fine and I respect it but don't make yourself look twice the nerd for saying something so utterly moronic.

I thought that at first but now that I've been watching it awhile I've found the short bursts of action always entertaining to watch and then the strategic element of seeing what plays are chosen for each side is interesting. I do agree that football is probably the more strategic of the two but it's like comparing apples to oranges...

/me waves the australian rules flag
truely the best form of football :P

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_Rules_Football

half the country here plays afl, the other half play rugby, and we have the same pointless arguments over which is better. funny thing is, 4 of the past 5 afl flags have been won by teams from predominantly rugby cities. soccer is a minority albeit a growing one with increasing multiculturalism.

american football is as slow as soccer but at least they score semi frequently (and afaik, arent plagued by riotous crowds bored brainless :P )

seriously though

comparing A.football to rugby/soccer is like comparing drafts to chess

quite simply i find american footy to be to boring to hold my attention

its good to watch when nothing else is on but thats about as far as it goes
