I would agree with that actually. It's happening a lot now. King Kong, which is an awesome film, is over 3 hours and that is way too long for any film. It really could have easily been 2 hours and still been great.

Although saying that, the film was so good it flew by.

I finally saw The Deer Hunter, which I'm giving a 10/10. It took me 27 years to see the movie and I'm predicitng it will probably take me just as long to recover from it.

It's a very loose allegory. For example, when Christ returned he didn't bite the head off of the romans.

religions are fantastic stories - why not enjoy the stories on their own merit?

I saw a bit of joseph campbell's Sukhavati: A Place of Bliss. Some interesting stuff - wouldn't mind learning more about that stuff some time.

LotR is the same basic story, but I like it much better. Same story, better execution.

I generally hate reading books where children are the main protagonists though, I've always hated that, even when I was a kid.

is that what was recently released with music and visuals over him lecturing? saw about 15 minutes of that and hated it. just wanted to hear him speak straight up.

Just saw Narnia as well...
7/10. I was very impressed.

It was a very good adaptation; well acted for the most part, considering it was almost all kids and talking animals; very impressive effects. I didn't think it was very long at all, though.

I saw the Doom movie the other day. The first person section made me want to play Q4 single player.
