Can't have outside users connect to my server

I have my server up and running, but if someone from outside my router (an internet user) tries to connect, it sit at the connect screen and simply continues counting. I've enabled the appropriate port forwarding and still nothing. I don't have a firewall running. Is there anything I'm missing?

I should also mention that I have my internal IP address set in the command line as well as the enabled port.

you sure you're giving them an external IP?
