Could you help me chose the best sound card for my PC?

Post by Pete »

Hello my friends PS: I just edited my post and change it for a sound card instead of a graphic card.
It's far from a gamer PC. I would like a better graphic card but with this type of PC, even if I get a high end card, I guess that because of the poor performance of the PC, it wouldn't worth it and I should only get a better one but not waste money for the high end one. Would adding more memory help?

Here's my GF PC's system information...

OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional

Thanks

Never. I want it to get a better video image for music video and news on video or Youtube and to get a better resolution for NASA World Wind. I am also thinking about a tv/video card.
Thanks

I Google and eBay it but I am not sure about it. Is this what you suggest? http://cgi.ebay.ca/nVIDIA-GeForce-7300G ... dZViewItem
If so, it doesn't have rca ports, do I need an adapter to plug it to my tv?
I tought it was only this type of card...Image

So you mean, through these portsImage
I connect the dongle/adapter Image to use rca connectors.

Thanks again, sorry I didn't get back to you earlier. I have another question for you. What type of sound card I could get that would play as good as a home theatre system and I could plug my real home stereo speakers on it? Does it exist, a card with a powerfull amplifier, doesn't need to be a 500RMS, just like 40RMS but with a great quality of sound.

that depends on alot,

are you feeding it into an amp? or do you want to use PC speakers as your home theater?

GE my friend, either ways must be fine but yes, I was wondering if a simple PC card could have as much power and quality sound as a home amplifier, of course, I guess you'd have to have a powerfull PC as well.
