Extended functionality but putting a USB mouse in each port... shit, another OfficeCunt 9000 (tm) in each port and 4 in each of those ad infinitum. Imagine the usability.

It seems stupidly inevitable... every piece of hardware is addopting USB ports and hubs :icon27: Some flat-panel monitors have them, some keyboards, and now a mouse. What the fuck, though, I can see use in a monitor and keyboard if you keep your computer case on the floor or somewhere else out of the way, but why would you want one on your mouse? Firstly, as some of you have said, being on that side it gets in the way (even if you only use it temporarily, it's still an arse to move the mouse at all with it there), and even if it was on the otherside, it may well un-balance the mouse, get in the way of the wire, and just generally look silly.

call it a hunch, but im guessing that they put usb ports on a lot of devices because its not that hard to do and it might be convenient for people.
