I heard that there are a lot of good sites fr discovering music, or at the very least have a variety of genres to sample

Yeah, if you want to discover new shit, Pandora's the way to go. Or you could try having friends that make recommendations, but I know that having friends is pretty hard for most Q3Wers. <3

For downloading new music you want the hype machine, which aggregates mp3s from the music blogs.

To discover what music you want to download use last.fm or find a music blog you like.
