My new phone/pda

Post by Melvin »

Hey, for all I know, someone might say it's ok if that's all I can afford  But I think this phone is pretty cool. I have a half price contract plus half price web 'n walk ( unlimited internet ) costing me £16 a month for the lot including 5 hours talk time.

Here are some pictures. I am no photographer but I did at least make an effort and put my camera on a tripod to get some sort of clarity and didn't use the flash because the flash makes it all look fucking shite :) As it happens, I tend to mostly use my razr v3i for calls and calendar appointments, and the mda mostly for sat nav and internet. I put a 2GB card in the mda and still have 1.5GB left. I put opera browser on it too as windows mobile doesn't handle java or javascript, one of those anyway.

Ah hey look a PSP, oh wait no.

I personally don't like big bulky, chunky or oversized phones. Can you imagine how that looks next to your face, while talking?

I recently bought myself a Samsung SGH-X820, from Dubai a real beauty. I don't know if they have any here in Canada. But I love this phone, ever since I seen my cousin with one. It is thinner than the top part of the RAZOR phone. And this is not a flip phone, I hate those. It has a big keypad, 2MP camera, MP3, Bluetooth, web, email, java games. But the biggest point for me is just how thin the phone is. How they managed to make a phone thinner than an iPod I have no idea, but they did, and it's mine.

Here is a pic of the phone.

I'll take pics of mine later when I’m home.

I love how it just slips in to any pocket, and you don't know is there.

It's pretty nice it reminds me of my Cingular. I enjoyed it for almost a year then I went back to simplicity. I would have loved to have GPS on it though

I do agree with the general sentiment of it being a bit on the big side, and that's why I love using my flip phone mostly, and using this for other things. Having said that, it's actually not as big as you might think. I just measured it and it's 4"H by just over 2"W and less than 3/4" thick. plained, battery life is pretty good on standby, but once you start using the sat nav or internet, it saps it fairly quick. But I charge it in the car anyway. It is a good size screen for surfing, and you can flip it to either portrait mode or landscape mode, and also full screen or with borders.

Yep, old habits. :smirk: I still find it easier to think in old measurements like inches, or even stones for weight rather than pounds.
