Widescreen vs. CRT

Post by iris030380 »

Recently bought a Lacie Electron Blue 22" because I could. What do you think people? I know it's oldschool in the world of widescreen TFT's but could the Lacie be the best Q3 screen ever? Do you think there is an advantage in newer games like ET to have a widescreen res? I'm talking aim I suppose.

I used to own a Diamond Mitsubishi Pro 22" with the super bright switch, which was amazing at 1024x786 @ 120Hz. Afterwards I played on a 19" Acer widescreen TFT at 1440x900 @ 60Hz. Both were great but which would you think is better?

CRT pwns except waste of space toward just one axis.
But it's no longer available nor supported mostly.

i.e) 640x480 and 800x600 is playable(acceptably sharp), only on CRT.

True enough. I think ^^^ that would be the perfect Q3 monitor, but it's a little pricey. Apparently they first retailed at £1800, not too long ago. So maybe it's a steal...
