Beta of my map, q3lol1

Post by RaspAtan »

Hi everybody.
I finish a simple map, and very noob one. Is not a map for playing but for using the freatures of quake 3 to do "funny" (hope) stupid things.
That is why my map is called q3LOL1.

So, I just hope you enjoy it, at least for a while.

More info in the readme.

I wait for comments.

The link to file is this: http://www.mediafire.com/?5busbnzez10

Thank you.

About the textures, yes, I don´t understand that. I used textures from other maps, not ID maps.
I just copied into my pk3 with the folder name of my map. How is the correct way to do it?

Thanks.

In your scripts folder, you need to save your file as q3lol1.arena, not q3lol1.arena.txt

The Q3 console will tell you a lot about what's wrong...

Hi... It is perfect now. No texture problems and appears in the menu!!
Nice.
Load from the menu, put /ready (osp/cpma) and enjoy!!

bork[e]....use the command /kill. Is not necessary to use noclip.

I welcome more comments.

Have you played Defrag? Cause it reminded me of Defrag maps and trickjump maps. Defrag is a mod with custom maps just for trickjumping. The mod times how long you take to complete each map aswell. Your map has some humour in it which is lacking in the Defrag maps. I'd like you to learn trickjumping and make Defrag and/or trickjumping maps that are funny, not just a challenge.

I read in the readme (after I completed the map) that you are lacking motivation to make more; I hope this idea motivates you and you make more! I found some bits of the map boring but some bits made me laugh. So well done you succeeded in making a funny, albeit short-lived map.

I think you'll find most people don't like using the kill command so making a way around that would be a good idea.

Defrag maps use teleporters for that. Large teleporter brushes in every spot where you can fall down.
