Maps, maps, need some maps.

Post by blackxactoX »

Been playing on and off for years. I've tried to quit on occasions, but Q3 is worse than Crystal Meth. I beat MOH most days. So I still am drawn back. And I am 54.

With the forum closing I have lost my old monicker and history.

When I connect to a multi-player game using a map I don't have, I try to download it. The trouble is the download speed is 5K at times. I am on internet cable w Comcast.

1. Anyway to speed up the download?

2. Where do you fraggers go to download most of the maps being played today. What map sets do you reccomend? If I could find a good source, I bet I could download them faster, than during a game is being played.

3. Has anyone heard an anything about Q4 and hopefully for Mac as well.

Sorry, that should read. I play MOH, but always come back to Q3, there's nothing like it. blackxacto :icon25:

most pub servers are attached to isps or similar and have websites where you can download their maps. Broadly speaking if you have map pack for osp, cpma and maybe defrag, then that will keep you going. Im on 56K and if a map I dont have loads, I quit, google it, then re-join.

Yep, and maybe the RA maps as well. BTW, if you're into trick jumping (lots of regular maps as well):

If you need a map, remember the .pk3 file name it starts to auto dl then go to google and type that full pk3 name with quotes:

"6++.pk3"

usually the first like will be a direct download to that pk3 :icon25:

i try. btw, without resorting to download each of those .pk3's and scoping the readme's, which one are you referring to?
