Wow, that looks awful. The story has nothing to do with Mortal Kombat (it's more reminiscent of Highlander now) and really, I'm not exactly interested in watching 2 hours of such extreme violence where ugly people are beating the crap out of each other.

Apparantly it's not even a movie trailer. It's a pitch for WB to pick it up:

It looks fantastic. To those people saying it looks terrible, I have to laugh... Show me one other tripple A movie based on a game thats done as good a job as this short pitch? Not even Prince Of Persia was as good as this pitch.

Yeah, somehow 2d beatemup video games don't easily lend themselves for screen adaptations.

What I saw in that trailer was ok-ish violent, gore schlock.
Which would be ok to fill a boring, 2 hour gap in your life.
But to pretend you based it on such a simple game seems a bit off.

It's like Michael Bay creating an epic $500 million production of aliens invading Earth.
And then pretend it's based on a squiggly, 8 pixel game called Space Invaders.
(Unfortunately, I wouldn't even be surprised if that happened.)

There are none, but that does not make this any less of an obvious B flick. Don't pretend it could be good, clearly it can't be.
All it can hope to be is a decent B flick rather than a mediocre or bad one.

You mean because the plot isn't top notch, the film will clearly bomb...? Yeah,

I think each of you wiener lovers have valid points. It's interesting seeing this take on it, but is it really what mortal kombat was meant to be?

I'd rather have no mortal kombat films, personally.
