That article was unbelievably bad/ignorant. I think it was written by the head gawker guy and not anyone from Kotaku, but jesus christ, it was hard reading. The guy has blatantly never played a PC game in his life and read like the opinion of your average mac tard.

The price isn't really any different than any other high end laptop. It's got slightly more balls than the best MacBook Pro and appears to cost a few hundred less. But I agree that this was a lot of hype for fuck-all.
