talk about trying to kill a fly with a shotgun...why not just place restrictions on the amounts served to tourists?
At least now the money will stay in their community since all new drug carriers will be dutch
And GG on losing out on casual tourist smoker-generated income.. of which cannabis is surely only a small part of their expenditures there.
MKJ, this is a 'tip of the iceberg' discussion, but are there deeper, social implications here? I noticed the small print "The number has been steadily declining with the imposition of tougher regulations, such as closing shops close to schools." in Boulder, the green room crackdown has been turned up more aggressively each year, as more and more high school students are getting caught holding stuff that was identified as not the typical ditch weed sold by street vendors, but more the super potent OG Kush type found in dispensaries. I guess the real question is, are we headed toward a zombie apocalypse?
Calm down.
It was just a brain fart of the right wing administration we had for the last 2 years, but all bets are off since the Dutch government collapsed after economic talks failed
Elections in september, AGAIN.
We haven't had a government sit through the full 4 year term for the past 10 years. It'll be the 5th time we have elections in 10 years time. Bunch of incompetent morons.
Seriously, what this planet needs is a good 3rd world war.
All these years of appeasement and defusing conflicts have proved to work counter-productively. Earth on the whole has become weaker in the past 30 years.
Time to shake things up, so people get focussed, and realise what's what again.

Historically...once a right is taken by the state, it is NEVER given back...you MUST fight tooth-and-nail for it.
This is truly sad news for Holland's tourism industry.

Perfect chance for Las Vegas to cash in on this. There's been talks by different mayors to open up cafes here, but it always falls short with "Tourists would rather just go to Amsterdam."
I'm still pro "red-light" district downtown (currently there isn't one). The whores here are cleaner than the pools at the YMCA. No need to flood my highways with naked lady posters and a bullshit flyer. Be open with that shit and keep it to one place.
Also, don't care about what the law says, this city can change that.
