My point remains. The US is not only a 1st world country, it wants to be examplary to others. It is one of the most important and influential countries in the world. The US wants to be something other countries aspire to be as well. Such high gun crime numbers just do not fit the image the US wants to portray of itself.
Uh, not really sure where you're getting this from. Not only do I think you're starting to talk about what the government think and says to other countries, it still doesn't seem relevant to the point I'm trying to make.

The worst thing is that most US citizens and politicians act like there is no such problem.
You don't know "most" US citizens or politicians, please don't generalize. I don't think that you'd be able to find anyone that thinks that there isn't at least some form of issue relating to gun violence in the US that needs to be addressed. Be it the fact that it's criminals using illegal firearms to commit murders or the availability of certain types of weapons (note that I don't think the latter is a problem), I think that if you were to ask 100 people, 95 of them would say that something needs to change.

Countries like Mexico or other Latin American states or African states.... they are scumbag states
Um, did you really just say this? I mean, I think I get what you're saying, but ffs dude.

Also, pro-gun people keep saying guns dont kill people, people kill people. Well, maybe the American people aren't responsible enough for having such loose gun control. Sure, the guns aren't the problem, the people are. But since we can't take away the people and taking away the guns is (technically) not very hard, the choice and solution isn't very hard (if it weren't for the redneck gun hardliners)
I think you're partially correct, some people shouldn't have guns. The problem is determining who those folks are. Taking away the guns from legal gun owners wouldn't be that hard, but they're not the problem. The VAST majority of people that commit crimes with guns don't get them legally. That's why most gun control laws are useless and stupid, and the Aurora shootings prove that. The Constitution says that it's my inalienable right to own firearms to protect myself and my family against harm and government tyranny. Why should I have to give that up because a VERY small percentage of people are fucking idiots and don't deserve the privilege?
