I'm waiting for the goth's cauldron. That's the only thing that kept me watching, but I may just turn it off now.

Something to do with the Cauldron of Plenty/Arthurian holy grail ? : )

is Avaggdu isn't going to crawl out of it? (not sure if Danny Boyle is a fan of Slaine - 2000AD) :p

I'm a bit disappointed we never got a Dr Who reference... maybe at the end. I'm debating whether to record this and fast forward through the marching athletes tomorrow.

I was mainly involved in the petals but i worked on the machine itself on site.

I didn't see it. They took bloody 15 minutes to march the A countries alone, so by the time they hit B, I turned it off.

Cauldron was awesome, and seemed to all work without a hitch! Good work on the beam engines too - I got some funny looks from my other half when I cheered for them popping up :P

It was a wee bit dismaying to see the engineers portrayed as the brutal displacers of rural life... it looked a bit like they were marching in and destroying Hobbiton!

so they slipped a bit of very late regret over parliamentary enclosure and the industrial revolution into the olympic ceremony?

how quaint

the whole concept of the olympics is gay. you're gay. your dad is gay. your mum is gay. jesus was gay. the universe is one big gay experiential event, made up of a veritable rainbow of quantum gayness

BASICALLY, EVERYTHING THAT HAS EVER EXISTED IS GAY

That's because it was so gay, space and time split into a new parallel universe in order to contain the gayness within...guess what universe you're stuck in now...

Was kinda alright ! (the opening ceremony), liked the bit at the beginning with Brunel n shit, acting all pimp, couldve prolly done more but Mike Oldfield ?, please and Mccartney ?, he may have lived on but his voice died many years ago !, they sucked.

also funny how Underworld helped with the music selection n all and one of their tunes ended up alongside the likes of the Beatles and Queen, for shame !

How long these things usually go on for ?, loving the bicycle crashes >: D

The A countries were all that mattered anyway (besides America).

I just watched it on iplayer. Thought it was really good. Disappointed they didn't include a piece on the london riots last year. Phantasmagoria could have built some mock up currys and pcworlds to loot and burn down. Show the world how cool british yoof is.
