Lies, you and I both know there is not a film in existence that is better than Prometheus.

Honestly...I had completey forgotten just how beautiful Alien Resurrection was. The production design was top notch but sometimes a little overboard. It wasn't as jaw-droppingly gorgeous as Prometheus, but it held its own considering it's 15 years old. The characters were all likeable and interesting and their goals and motivations were clear and easy to understand...something that is hugely important with a large cast and something completely lacking in Prometheus.

Seriously...if you're starved for good sci-fi you can do much, much worse.

children of men - humans have stopped being able to have children, but then a woman gets pregnant and the main charactor has to get her to safety. 8 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0206634/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Buried 5/10

Contractor finds himself buried alive after an unfortunate incident with some insurgents. With him are inexplicably several items that would facilitate a lengthy stay underground. Many plotholes later the movie ends.

Not very good. For every scene that was solid, a scene followed that was totally unbelievable or just plain bad. Annoying, that.

I actually quite like Alien: Ressurection, but it does feel quite comic-book, probably due to being written by Joss Whedon.
Odd to think it's directed by the same guy responsible for Amelie.

Sightseers, I loved it: good acting and incredibly well observed black comedy about a couple who go on a camping trip and end up on a killing spree, it's like a British Natural Born Killers. Nostalgia in that most of the places they visited were places I went to on school trips.

^ will definitely have to check that one out.

thought the script/story in "kill list" (by the same bloke) was absolute shite, but pretty much everything else about it was great.

Prometheus - 5/10 - made no more sense the second time around. fantastic visuals let down by an utterly mediocre script sprinkled with the worst cod philosophy bollocks ever laid down on celluloid

The Hobbit - 8/10
Saw it at the IMAX theater in 3D. It was ok. 3D effects were very minor and not distracting. Lots of time watching short people walk around on hills. Doesn't really pick up until the last 30 minutes. Even so, it was enjoyable enough.

Cloud Atlas = 5/10 - I liked it...I think. The performances were good and the production quality was very high. It's just that none of the stories really connected with each other...it was just the same actors playing completely different characters in several fairly interesting stories (even different characters in the same stories) and then it just ends. I guess I missed the point. There are maybe 2 or 3 connections in the stories, but nothing like the marketing or trailers painted it to be.

Dunno what all the fuss was about...it's not that great but it's not horrible either. I can't really recommend it unless there's absolutely nothing else to watch.

the hobbit.. 7/10 a 3 hour movie that should be half that long. what a snooze fest.

on a plus note that high frame rate 3D is definitely an improvement

Alex Cross = 0/10 - I turned it off after about 20 minutes. Life's too short for garbage like this.

Tyler Perry.
[LOL RACISM] really is a reverse King Midas; everything he touches just turns to shit.
I'm truly baffled why this talentless cunt has got so much clout in Hollywood.

Hobbit - 6/10 - bloated collection of adventure movie cliches and the dimmest jokes from the LotR movies. the fewer movies they'd split this book into, the better it would've been.

Ehhhm, spoiler?
But yeah, how is it a spoiler when a movie is 30+ years old? Everyone should have seen it by now.
Still a spoiler.
Cunt.

Deadfall - 4/10 = Predictable stuff we've all seen before. Believable performances for the most part but the bad guy's motives at the end felt cheap and out of character, simply to hasten and justify his death to end the movie. Poor writing to say the least.

And speaking of the OP, I had another round with:

Pauly's mum = 2/10 - The old bag has had it. Piss flaps hanging to the floor.
