Kids
Re: Kids
Enlighten me. How is kids better than living DINK and doing everything I want without the limitations the kids would impose?plained wrote:xer0s you really see no reasons to have kids?
that's pretty limited seeing ey I bet if you hade kids it would crack open the limitations of your head
Re: Kids
Kids change your life in ways you won't/can't understand until you've had one.
Just look at me ffs. I went from partying every night and hanging out with extremely questionable individuals (much like you're saying about limitations) to living a family life that's subdued but that I enjoy immensely. There's something happening there.

Re: Kids
Sorry but I have fun with my kids. I think that's where you're getting confused. You actually do things with them and you get to see them develop from day 1. When you meet a person that person is already who they are but when you meet a newborn they don't really have a personality at first. It develops and you get to see it happen and you know EVERYTHING about them. It's very interesting to see and you get this effect where you get to enjoy things you wouldn't normally try because you've already experienced those things but with kids you get to experience "firsts" in life again through their eyes and it's fun to show them stuff they've never seen before.
Either way, it's like I indicated, it's not something I can really explain to you and you won't get it until you've had a kid. If your purpose in life is to limit the number of experiences you have then not having kids is a great idea...

xer0s, Kracus is a really, really poor example, but ultimately he's right.xer0s wrote:Yeah, what's happening is 100 million years of evolution is subconsciously telling you that you need to procreate and that it feels right because the species will live on...
You won't understand what it's like to have kids until you have 'em. That may sound elitist, and I thought it did so before I got my first kid as well, but no matter how much time you spend with other people's kids, having your own is just a completely different ball game.
Also, if you don't feel you want 'em, then there's nothing wrong with that, but also don't question other people's desire to do have kids. Living with kids may not necessarily be better than living without 'em, I guess that's up to each individual, but I do know that most people with children will say that despite the hardships, it's totally awesome to have 'em around.
Having said that, I would say that if you aren't 100% ready and committed for it, don't start. You may come to a point in your life where both you and your spouse will feel you want to do it. That point may also never come. Neither option is better than the other.
