E3 should be good this year. Hopefully we'll see some Fallout 4...

If that's supposed to be a Revenant, I prefer the D3 look

It was always going to be there - they've confirmed. I am happy with the little sneak though :D

I wonder if Youtube is already filled with hour-long videos where sweaty nerds are overanalyzing 2.371 seconds worth of footage.

Yeah saw that....would have been very different to what we know of the Doom world. Sort of Half Life spliced with Rage....

I can only hope that someone at Bethesda looked at that and said "That isn't Doom. Try again, only this time after you played through Doom and Doom 2. GO!

The revenant has always looked jarringly dumb. This is probably the best version by far.

Let's hope they came up with a new approach to the shooter genre. Most FPS that were released in the last years played pretty much the same.

in before dimly lit environments, busted pipes, crates, broken floor tiles, lit-up high value items which when picked up trigger a spawn, and monster closets galore

all the id cliches

or the rerelease 2 years later that actually does include co-op, even though it was completely impossible at first.

I only dislike the slowdown to swap weapons. Doom has always been about quick weapon management, hopefully it can be disabled.

Yea that was terrible.
Slowdown when changing weapons? Juggling weapons was always a skill, fuck pausing the game.
Animations when picking up weapons, so no running over items then. It also feels like the weapons don't make much impact, similar to Doom3.
Finishers is a cool idea but also slows down the game yet again. The entire gameplay clip is like 3 enemies, find item, 3 enemies, walk 10 seconds, 3 enemies, finisher, etc. The action gets interrupted every few enemies. A clever way to disguise that there aren't actually any hordes it seems.

Oh, glowing Destiny style icons instead of items? Uck.

This game can take a cue or two from Bulletstorm IMO.

I'm not particularly impressed either. It felt way too slow. Might also be due to the fact that the player playing it uses slow camera movement but still...
The enemies also didn't really seem to move all that much either. And the environment didn't seem that inspiring to me.

The first trailer was from a year ago and I guess there was a reason they didn't want to the world to see it.

I'm actually looking forward to it - if you can mod easily (which they are saying you can) you can get rid of the slow down weapon changing.

I liked the door noises :toothy:

Turns out they've showed this video for the Bethesda presentation audience just yesterday, as well as officially releasing it to the public now. If they were unsure about it a year ago, why would they be sure about it now?

Seems like a poor excuse.

Just occurred to me that the weapon change slow down is absolutely a product of 'consolefication' and sort if makes sense for a control pad. It should be am option you can turn off for the PC, though. We have more buttons than a console, we don't need the slow down stuff. WE AER L33T

which is totally moronic, looking at HL2's system, or both the Serious Sam releases.
fast paced games with the usual weaponswitching systems, perfectly doable with the limited amount of buttons.

It does seem to have a Forge / Reflex like editor mode by the way, that should be fun.
